I developed this commission with the BTEC art students at the Heath Park Business and Enterprise College, Wolverhampton.
Pathway of Learning
The Reception children dealt with the question ‘what would I like to become’. The children’s drawings and clay models were carved into granite slabs to create the ‘Pathway of learning’, leading up to the school entrance.
Peace Garden, Taunton Road
This piece commemorates a specific attack in the Second World War. The sculpture was not only a memorial to the past, but had also to be relevant to the current ethnic community.
Art Project, to develop a sign for the main entrance that represents the school. I worked with each class, Reception up to Year 6.
Instead of ‘just’ carving some seating as it was agreed with the school, I carved a 'comfy' sofa for the children.
With literal translations of children’s creations I eternalise their work in stone or metal.
